My latest survey of county Republican chairs can be seen in this Politico piece. However, I wanted to report some other information here on people’s answers to questions on some other key questions.
Specifically, I asked the county chairs about the indictments filed against Trump last month by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr. In this graph, you can see the respondents’ reactions to several different statements about the indictments:
Perhaps unsurprisingly, these Republican chairs do not take these charges terribly seriously. 81% of them see the charges as politically motivated, and a mere 19% think it’s inappropriate to run for president while under such indictments. Interestingly, roughly 40% of respondents agreed that the indictments made them support Trump more, while a similar percentage think the indictments may hurt Trump in the general election. But we get a lot more clarity when we break these results down by candidate support:
